Why did you think it was important to join the PHNX jury this year?
It's only a pleasure but also a "duty" to stay up to date with top-level work being produced in our industry, so I always enjoy being part of an award show as international as the PHNX Awards.
What do you think of our hybrid jury, featuring creatives but also strategists, clients and people from all corners of the industry?
It might get slightly different results then the ones being judged solely by creatives, but exactly because of it it's so relevant. After all, Communication/Creative work should work with everyone, not only amonsts creatives ;)
What do you think of the idea of free entry until the shortlist stage?
I'm totally in favour of making awards more inclusive. The BEST ideas should win, not only the ones backed by big agencies with dedicated award budgets.
How would you define the perfect PHNX Awards winner?
Advertising is about attention and entertainment nowadays. It needs to be something people actively wanna see and engage with instead of an annoying ad break. Since the invention of the skip ad button, we are either relevant or just annoyance people will forget about it with a click.
What is having the biggest impact on creative trends at the moment?
Obviously the buzzword of the moment is AI - Something that can help us accomplish wonderful stuff, but that will also affect our industry, work and way of life in the years to come. And it's up to us and the industry on how this will play out, either by fostering and empowering human creativity, or turning us all into prompt aficionados doing all the same-looking things.
Who would you nominate as your two or three “creatives of the year”?
Pedro Americo and Luis Gatti. Keep an eye on these two dudes! :)
