In January of 2019, the ranks of McCann Health welcomed Matt as their Global Chief Creative Officer. His esteemed journey led him to this role from his previous position as Worldwide Chief Creative Officer of J. Walter Thompson, a distinction that earned him the moniker of a "unicorn" in the communications sphere, as deemed by Britain's Campaign magazine. Recognized for his role in spearheading some of today's most pioneering and instantly recognizable creative endeavors in advertising, Matt's influence is widespread and transformative.

His career is a tapestry woven across a diverse array of agencies, specialties, and nations, encompassing Australia, the UK, and the US. Matt's footprint can be traced back to his role as a founding partner of M&C Saatchi in Australia. Subsequently, he ascended to the position of National Creative Director and Vice Chairman at DDB Australia. The year 2010 marked his transition to DDB New York, where he assumed the mantle of Chief Creative Officer. His global impact was substantiated when AdAge's 2013 Award's Report ranked him as the fifth most awarded Chief Creative Officer worldwide.

Matt's leadership of J. Walter Thompson in 2016 bore historic fruits at Cannes, culminating in the acquisition of a staggering 80 Lions. In more recent chronicles, he steered McCann Health to clinch the coveted title of Healthcare Network of the Year at Cannes Lions Health 2019. This momentous triumph was mirrored by Lions for Agency of the Year and the Pharma Grand Prix.

Matt joined J. Walter Thompson as Worldwide Chief Creative Officer in July 2014. Described by Britain’s Campaign magazine as a “unicorn” in the communications industry, Matt has overseen some of the most innovative and recognizable creative projects in advertising today. His career has spanned numerous agencies, specialties and countries, including Australia, the UK and US. Matt was a founding partner of M&C Saatchi in Australia before he went on to join DDB Australia as National Creative Director and Vice Chairman.
In 2010 he moved to DDB New York as Chief Creative Officer. And in AdAge’s 2013 Awards Report, Matt was listed as the 5th most-awarded Chief Creative Officer worldwide. In 2016, Matt led J. Walter Thompson to a historic year at Cannes, winning a total of 80 Lions – more than the agency had ever won in their 150-year history. Most excitingly, J. Walter Thompson moved from 14th to 7th most-awarded network at Cannes, making the agency one of the “biggest movers” at Cannes in 2016.
During his career, Matt has won numerous accolades and honors, including Campaign Brief Agency of the Year, Australian Creative Hotshop, AdNews Agency of the Year, Creativity’s Agency to Watch, B&T Agency of the Year, Spikes Network of the Year, and Campaign magazine Network of the Year.
