Known as 'Shum' in the industry, Qihao's work has earned acclaim at D&AD, Cannes, the One Show, and more. His creations have been featured in Forbes, CNN, BBC and even had a cameo in a New York museum exhibition.
Among his accolades is the prestigious 'Idea Team of the Year' award at the Singapore Hall of Fame Awards. He's also credited with pioneering one of Singapore's largest integrated campaigns, which is now archived in the National Library, and being the creative force behind the launch of McDonald's best-selling product in four decades. Notably, he played a vital role in destigmatizing dandruff among Japanese men, a significant cultural shift.
Beyond these milestones, Shum is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of industry talents. As an alumnus, he actively engages with LASALLE College of the Arts, mentoring undergraduate students.
During the lockdown in 2021, Shum embarked on a unique passion project, Communals, a wristwatch brand specialising in minimalistic bespoke timepieces. And in 2022, he co-founded Uncanny, a multi-disciplinary creative and production company, alongside two like-minded industry friends.
