One of the most renowned music composers of background score on the television circuit in India, he holds the dual distinction of being the only composer to have composed for Over 130 TV shows, 25 webseries and for over 22,000 episodes of music (arguably the maximum by any composer in the world). He has already won FIVE Indian telly awards and is currently consultant on their jury and on the Advisory Board of the Clef Music Awards . He holds the distinction of composing music for one of the longest running soap operas on Indian Television “Balika Vadhu” for which he was felicitated by the Jaipur International Film Festival for his contribution to Rajasthani music. He also won the MATA Sanman award and the Maharashtra state award for best music for his debut Marathi feature film “Pak pak pakaak” starring Nana Patekar and Narayani Shastri. He went on to score music for four more Marathi films “Aai no. 1”, “Anolkhi he ghar mazhe”, “Khalti Doka Varti Pay” and “Jai Jai Maharashtra Maza” and two highly acclaimed Punjabi Films, “Sikka” and “Kudesan”.
He also composed the superhit title song for the Red Chillies film ‘ALWAYS KABHI KABHI” directed by Roshan Abbas and the background score for the same film and for “ZID” by Anubhav
Sinha.
He also scored the music for the National award winning Bengali blockbuster “Aanuranan” starring Rahul Bose, Raima Sen, Rituparna Sengupta and Rajat Kapoor.
He has been felicitated with awards from IFEFA (Australia) and by the Hindi Chitrapat Sanman Samaroh for these endeavours.
His music video “Vande Mataram” has garnered more than 50 international awards and his next music video “Jaago Zara” has received over 100 international accolades.
His feature film “Pak pak pakaak” swept most of the awards in the Marathi Film circuit in that year. He is also the Composer for the soon to be released film “Hocus Focus” that has won around 50 international awards at various festivals and has won awards for Sound Design and background score for the film.
He has been extremely active in movements concerning the welfare of Music Creators in India and abroad, having served on the Board of Directors of IPRS, and having held the posts of Treasurer – FWICE, Vice President – AIFEC, and held the post of Gen. Secretary MCAI for over 10 years and now Vice Chairman of the Asia Pacific Music Creators Alliance. (APMA)
