Bio: Matthew is a skilled filmmaker with an eye towards telling authentic stories. He’s spent the last 10 years in the industry producing, directing, shooting, and editing a variety of narrative and nonfiction projects. His broad but consistent curiosity has led him to develop specialized skills in all aspects of production and tell stories in creative ways. His interest with Virtual Reality began when he was in grade school by modeling Shakespeare’s Globe theater in a 3D Quicktime VR interactive experience. At the age of 15, he founded his own graphic design company and paid his way through a B.F.A in film production at Chapman University. He took that momentum into the industry, working for companies such as Warner Bros., Chevrolet, NBC, and directing a feature length documentary called Off The Floor. In 2015, Matthew saw the potential of storytelling in VR and helped launch Light Sail VR, a live-action 360 production company. In less than two years, the company has become a leader in the space, working with clients such as Google, GoPro, and Paramount.
