My grandfather had a big Super 8 mm camera he’d only let me look at from a distance. Luckily, my friend’s dad had a VHS one, so we’d spend hours creating little studio sets where we’d pretend to be TV hosts presenting fictional Tennis Grand Slams or the weather after the News. Later on as a teenager I’d buy DV cameras and use the store policy to return them after 14 days. I was always fascinated by moving images and in 2006 I eventually decided that filmmaking was what I needed to do. Developing my voice as a filmmaker helped me grow as a human being and gave me access to what I really believe in: collaborating with smart creative people.
