Tom Wenborn’s creative journey is anything but linear—more a zigzag through the chaos of design, copywriting, art direction, customer experience and everything in between. He’s never been one to colour inside the lines.
For 15 years, Tom cut his teeth at some of Australia’s best agencies—CHE Proximity, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Ogilvy—before finding his spiritual home at Thinkerbell in 2018. By 2020, he’d taken the reins as ECD, where he’s been helping steer the ship with equal parts heart and irreverence ever since.
Tom has created campaigns that Australians not only remember but actually care about. From Cadbury to Westpac, Toyota to Furphy, his work dances the fine line between craft and impact. And it hasn’t gone unnoticed—over 100 nods from the likes of D&AD, Cannes, Clios, and The Effies. His campaigns have been feature by Contagious’ Best & Bravest and even found their way into the Financial Review’s Most Innovative List.
But for Tom, it’s never been about the silverware. He’s obsessed with simplicity and work that truly matters. Whether it’s helping unfuck the planet or crafting something that makes your Nanna giggle, Tom believes in ideas that punch above their weight and ideally aren't ads. It's all about ideas of every shape, having an impact.
