Mitch Stratten’s film-making centres on strong feeling and ranges from highly technical feats to performance, comedy and documentary.
Mitch’s most recent commercial project brought together a crew of professional basketball players to perform an epic single take pool dunk which generated over 2.5 million views on YouTube for Turkish Airlines in the first five days alone.
Originally from the Johannesburg ghetto, with a background in music and sculpture – Mitch invented the filming technique Timesculpture, which he utilised to create the never-before-seen imagery for his groundbreaking commercial commissioned by Toshiba. The project received numerous and diverse accolades globally and even holds a Guinness World Record.
Mitch's first major personal work ¬– OCP – a long gestating production and his most ambitious to date, was released on award winning distribution platform Sedition, where it is curated alongside other leading contemporary artists and included in museum programs around the world.
He is also a composer and recording artist, with his full-length album Nodern released on legendary cult label Sub Rosa Records.
Mitch lives and works in London.
