My name is Simon French and I'm a visual effects artist living in London. I am currently Joint Head of CG at Electric Theatre Collective and previously was Head of CG & Creative Director at Framestore Advertising.
I've been in the visual effects industry for 13 years and have worked with some of the world's top commercial directors, running large teams of visual effects artists across a varied range of jobs.
I started my career in film, but my commercials career began in 2005, collaborating with directing duo Dom & Nic on a number of projects from the Corsa "C'mons" campaign and the VES winning music video for The Chemical Brothers "Salmon Dance" in 2007. We later teamed up again to work on the charity commercial for Shelter - "House Of Cards" which went on to become the 2nd most awarded commercial of 2009.
In 2011 I led a large team of CG artists to create the animated Superbowl commercial Coca Cola "Siege", which won the British Animation Awards Best 3D Commercial and gained a VES nomination.
Since 2009 I have worked on many projects with Daniel Kleinman. In 2013 I led the team in creating a CG Audrey Hepburn for the Galaxy "Chauffeur" commercial. This was one of the biggest challenges of my career so far and received critical acclaim and numerous industry awards and nominations. Other projects include Nike "Dare to be Brazilian" and Audi "Leap Of Faith". In 2015 I was the CG Supervisor for the Bond Spectre title sequence, winning awards at the Design Week Awards and Kinsale Sharks 2016.
