Since graduating from OCAD in 1988, Jo-Ann has logged 20+ years of experience in advertising as both an Art Director ( who loves to write headlines ) and a Creative Director working seamlessly in both English and French.
Her work has been recognized locally as well as in New York and London. She has sat on many advertising juries, including Communication Arts and most recently as the senior digital judge for the Canadian Marketing Awards.
She has worked on a wide variety of big national brands,, overseeing 360 degree communications and branding including traditional, web, content, social networking, naming and activations. Crafting trans-media campaigns based on strong insights and always striving to surprise and engage with strong storytelling and bringing to life the "what's in it for me?". A curious mind and no fear of asking questions are key to her marriage of strategic thinking and creative solutions.
Jo-Ann believes in building strong relationships with not only consumers but also colleagues, and clients. Mentoring is something she finds enormously rewarding and she’s happy to see so many people she's worked with go on to become creative directors as well.
Can’t isn’t in Jo-Ann’s vocabulary. She thrives off challenge and loves to push herself inside and outside of work. She loves to work with brands that are environmentally friendly, care about giving back and strive to be socially conscious, since these are her values too.
She feels lucky to have chosen a career where no two days are alike and to say it's always interesting would probably be an understatement. Being in an industry with so many smart creative people is what keeps her motivated and keeps that fire in her belly lit.
