Steve Neely

Steve Neely

Agency Producer at Dektor Film
Santa Monica , United States

About me

Steve has the uncanny ability to take a two dimensional story board and bring it to life on film. Ideas that are often discounted as "can't be done" or "it'll cost too much" are resurrected and produced because of the creative solutions Steve brings to the table.
Steve started at FCB San Francisco in 1977. He produced his first TV job for Levi Strauss & Co. the very next year. And one year after that, he produced what he describes as his first "biggie" Levi's jeans spot, directed by Joe Pytka and featuring a very skinny John Goodman.

Steve was named Executive Producer in 1983 and manages a department of 10 full-time producers. He has worked on virtually every FCB San Francisco account over the years and was directly responsible for producing such award-winning campaigns as Pacific Bell's "Don't Drift Away"; all of the landmark Levi's "501 Blues" commercials; the Spike Lee-directed "Button Fly Report" campaign; the "501 Reasons" work; and the Emmy-nominated "Elevator Fantasy" and "Doctors" spots for Levi's Wide Leg Jeans. He is respected as one of the most talented producers in the industry, who knows how to bring out the very best in the artists he works with.

That ability--and the 22 years of outstanding advertising he's helped create--earned Steve promotion to Deputy Executive Creative Director, adding administrative responsibility for the office1s entire creative department in addition to Broadcast Production.
