Michal Horevaj has lived a thousand lives within his lifetime. Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, he grew up with a love of art and design, seeing beyond the landscape of Eastern Europe. He has led a life that explores the extremes. Escaping the communist regime in 1987, he lived in an Austrian refugee camp for a year before making his way to the U.S. Feeling a need to document his new environment, he purchased a beaten up Nikon and his bathroom was soon transformed into a darkroom. Later he moved to San Francisco and was accepted into the San Francisco Art Institute on a merit scholarship, graduating four years later with a degree in fine arts, majoring in photography.
As a retoucher, Michal possesses the enviable combination of artistic vision and photographic knowledge and is able to deliver the combination of an open mind, creative vision and technical expertise - collaborating with the client to offer creative solutions.
