After graduating in 1998 with a degree in Graphic Design I began work as an art director in Manchester at Barrington Johnson Lorains (BJL). During my time there I worked on the above and through the line advertising for John West, British Airways, Fisherman’s Friend, Del Monte, Pilkington Glass, Galaxy Radio, William Hill and Bradford & Bingley.
I rose to the role of Senior Art Director and was head creative on a number of pitches, including presentation and client facing responsibility. While at BJL, I also judged and hosted D&AD workshops and was heavily involved in working with students still in college and recent graduates.
After over 8 years in Manchester, I moved down to London to work at Iris. I held responsibility across a number of key accounts including Adidas, Sony, Philips, Powerade, Shell, Sony Ericsson and Coke. I worked on a number of high profile pitches which included helping win the Adidas Running Global ATL account. I later moved back to Manchester to work as a senior creative at Gyro, acting as lead creative on a number of their biggest accounts as well as heading up some of the agency's largest new business pitches to date.
Throughout my career I've won many awards for creativity and strategy in TV, print, digital and PR, including Campaign Posters, London Internationals, New York Festivals, Epica, The Roses, DADI Digital Excellence, The Digital Big Chips, The Webbys, CIPR Excellence, Best Ads On TV and Fresh.
I'm fully trained in Graphic Design including typography, photography and retouching, I’m also completely proficient on the Mac, which when combined means I’m skilled at putting together my own visuals for client presentations.
My work is focused on creating big ideas that can be fully integrated across the whole range of media channels including print, film, digital, online content, PR and retail while also being involved in planning and brand direction.
I'm currently working at BJL as a Senior Art Director.
