Elizabeth Shanklin

Elizabeth started her career in the B2B world, selling PBXs to enterprise companies for AT&T and discovered that she loved the challenge of converting complex concepts into easy-to-understand ideas and language. This led her to jump from sales to advertising, and she has since focused her career on running B2B and technology accounts, managing their 360° brand communications programs. Her client experience includes global B2B clients
Cisco, Nortel, McDonnell Douglas, Merck agricultural pharmaceuticals, and Motorola, as well as US relationships for Microsoft, AT&T, MCI and Sprint. She was actively involved in developing a global communications program when Northern Telecom changed its name to Nortel.

She has also developed operational skills through running all of account management across four offices for LB Works, a technology division of Leo Burnett, and the Chicago office of Modem Media. Her early interactive experience at Modem, back in the good old days of 1997, has proven to be invaluable footing for today?s 360 integrated programs. A specialty for Elizabeth is creating cross-functional teams to solve a puzzle, whether that puzzle is how to communicate a new tech gadget to a Chinese target, or how to reach the C-suite and get
them to care about infrastructure networking, or, simply, how to deliver on an assignment more quickly and cost effectively.

When she?s not running for an airplane, Elizabeth enjoys swimming, opera and gardening as well as spoiling her multi-species roommates, three Chihuahua mixes and two cockatiels. Although she?s traveled to, and lived in, many places, she considers herself a native Chicagoan, having weathered many Chicago winters.
