Chris was a late entrant into advertising, after completing his degree at London University, he spent three and a half years as a teacher. Firstly training at Cambridge University, then teaching in New York and finally Northamptonshire! Starting as a graduate trainee in 1987 at Foote Cone and Belding, he worked on Heinz, Gillette and Cadbury business. Moving to Ayer Barker two years later as European Account Director on Gillette women's skincare, he also had the good fortune to work on brands such as Mercedes-Benz and Air France.
In 1990 he joined Young and Rubicam where he worked on a range of business as a Board Account Director, latterly progressing to be the Agency's New Business Director. Moving to Lowe Howard-Spink in 1995 he ran a portfolio of accounts including Smirnoff, Weetabix, Courts and Vauxhall.
Chris joined McCann-Erickson in September 1998 as Deputy Managing Director, where he was specifically responsible for the Bacardi, Cereal Partners and Mastercard business. Chris was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in January 2003, a post he held until July 2004, when he joined Quiet Storm as MD.
Chris returned to Lowe London as its Managing Director in February 2005.
