John started his career in advertising at AMV/BBDO 18 years ago. He was their first ever planning trainee and made it to the agency board by the age of 30. After 8 years he left to join Lowe Howard-Spink as head of planning.
Whilst there he worked on all the agency's main accounts, including Stella Artois, Tesco, Vauxhall, Weetabix, HSBC, Orange, Unilever, Nestle and many others and was appointed Deputy Chairman in 2000. In 2002 John left the agency to spend more time with his family. They moved to France in order to give their children the gift of two native speaker languages. During the 18 months that followed, John worked for Lowe as a freelancer. He joined Grey in March 2004 with overall responsibility for planning all our clients.
