What motivates you to be part of the PHNX Jury, and what do you hope to bring to the judging process?
Seeing new work from around the world is always inspiring. Same goes with judging, I believe that having jury members from different geographical and cultural backgrounds helps to see the work in an objective light.
PHNX has always been about celebrating creativity in all its forms. What new perspectives or disciplines do you think deserve more recognition in award shows today?
New, young talents and the work that works rather than just promotes someone's world outlook. Apart from that, good old humour is more than welcome.
Which countries or regions do you think are leading the creative field right now? And which emerging markets should we look out for?
I don't think the tendency has changed in recent years. USA, UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Argentina, Brazil, S. Africa, Canada, Australia, Japan and New Zealand are leading markets, creative-wise, with other Western European countries, Thailand and occasional underdogs from around the world getting their bit, too.
What trends or cultural shifts do you think will define the most impactful creative work this year?
The world is in a mess, I'd rather not speculate on that.
If you could give one piece of advice to agencies and creatives submitting their work, what would it be?
I know it's easy to say, yet make your case study sharp and focused, visually brilliant and interesting to watch. And less 'our cheese will save the world' bullshit, thank you very much.
Which creative minds are inspiring you the most right now?
Nils Leonard, Sir John Hegarty, Anselmo Ramos, Rory Sutherland, Fernando Machado, Mark Ritson, Andy Pearson, Jon Evans, Andrew Tindall.
