BriefJust consider something as trivial as a deck of cards. A game that has existed for over 500 years, reflecting how the queen historically has been attributed a lower value than the king. But why? To challenge the norm and highlight how easy it is to get stuck in old patterns and traditions, we introduced "The Unusual Deck" in collaboration with the women's rights organization Kvinna till Kvinna. With the help of this deck, where the queen holds a higher value than the king, we aim to spark discussions about equality, hierarchy and why women are considered of lesser value in various parts of the world. It's not a new game, just new conditions.The Unusual Deck has been part of a PR campaign to highlight the work of Kvinna till Kvinna. The deck has gained significant traction in Swedish media. The deck of cards is available for purchase on Kvinna till Kvinna's webshop, and all proceeds goes directly to support their work.
