Why did you think it was important to join the PHNX jury this year?
Every year I enter as a jury, and it seems important to me, because I am doing visibility, and another is good to know what ideas or projects enter the category, and when I describe I can make my critical sense about what is a good idea and obvious that is respond to the category. I feel that this will open to me to be a jury in other festivals, in addition that I am representing Bolivia from Colombia, and it seems important to always be aware.
What do you think of our hybrid jury, featuring creatives but also strategists, clients and people from all corners of the industry?
It is as a friend told, different minds can help form an idea, because each one from their item can contribute something good, but that is to FORM, but when it comes to evaluating, each person has their point of perspective and can difficulty the evaluation of a project, so it has to be clear what the festival is about and the characteristics of each category. In summary, it is good, but you have to know who they are not in the middle, because a filmmaker can have another very radical opinion.
What do you think of the idea of free entry until the shortlist stage?
My unpopular opinion is that the festivals have focused on charging high money amounts, when remuneration is minimal. And other people think that if you do not pay large amounts of money, it should not be valued as what you ask. It is like the Apple Vision Pro and the Quest 3 of META, everyone goes for the most expensive because they assume that it must be better, but it is not. I love that they give opportunity, because this item does not make us millionaires, and more to the young people we want to highlight, we want more opportunities to demonstrate our good job and the desire we have to work.
How would you define the perfect PHNX Awards winner?
I think it is the idea or project that really made something felt, made a feeling highlight, excite more people. That is the idea that emotionally active to the greatest number of people with a creative execution. First is the message that means and then we see how they did.
What is having the biggest impact on creative trends at the moment?
Now we collect again with the objective of the brands, now brands want to be relevant, not saving the world, but having fun, demonstrating who they are, to improve the reputation of the brand from a product benefit.
