If you could choose three ads from history that you didn’t work on and add them to your portfolio, which three would you choose? Explain why
Thomas Barat:
  • 1 Volkswagen: Cannes winner VW commercial "fly swatter" (arround 1970) - Because it is the representation of an unbreakable and renewable product.
  • 2 Mach mal pause Trink Coca Cola (1960) - Because the message is excellent: Take a break for yourself, relax with a good product. Enjoy your life.
  • 3 I love New York campaign - Because I think, the "I Love NY" is one of the most iconic brand/logo
What is your opinion on the growing trend of agencies getting involved with developing products for clients?

Can you watch this case study for Hammerhead Navigation and tell us your thoughts on the product and the campaign?

I think companies are trying to save by partially hiring agencies or outsourcing communication tasks to external companies. These companies have a concentration of creative staff. In many cases, it is easier for an outside firm to plan a more effective campaign because it can become more independent of the firm’s internal collegial relationships.
The film is based on a good basic idea of Hammerhead Navigation, but I find it is too long. Less would be more. For example, an image showing a design drawing is not an argument for the buyer.
