Title | Faces of Freedom |
Brief | In 2018, the murder of a young journalist sparked civil protests in Slovakia. The government downplayed the problem, as many conspirators now downplay the Velvet Revolution of 1989. Telco brand O2, which celebrates the Velvet Revolution every year, decided to remind the public that the people behind this fight for freedom were very real. So it said “thank you”. Not to the famous people on the stages, but to the ordinary ones on the squares. Using photos from the revolution, protestors were identified via social media. Their stories were revealed on November 17: the national day of freedom and democracy. |
