Title | Axe - Boys do Cry |
Brief | In Turkey, boys don't cry. There's even a famous song with that title. But this film for Axe changed the lyrics and ripped away the stereotype by showing men crying in public and at close quarters. The bold film was controversial in a time of oppression, when gay parades are illegal and cross-dressers have been assaulted. It encouraged men to embrace the emotions they have suppressed for too long. Yes, boys DO cry. |
