| Brief | When opening a new store in the city of Lier, Jumbo stumbled upon a big problem. The terrain that was acquired to open the store was the former home of iconic night club La Rocca, that was closing after 33 years. Locals and fans of the club reacted furiously: they were under the impression that the new supermarket was taking away their beloved club.We decided to acknowledge the stirred emotions and gave the club back to its fans. During the demolition of the building, we collected original bricks. We turned 450 bricks into 450 relics: over 25 national and international DJ’s who are part of the history of La Rocca hand-signed the bricks, honoring the club’s legendary status. The DJ’s became ambassadors of the campaign, turning the initial negative sentiments into a positive story. This way Jumbo won back the hearts of the angry clubbers. |
