| Brief | If you were convicted of simple cannabis possession before legalization in 2018, you were still considered a convicted criminal and could be shut out from many employment opportunities and civil rights in Canada. Cannabis Amnesty is a non profit organization dedicated to the expungement of these charges and the freedom owed to many racialized communities targeted by prohibition.We needed to tell an emotional story in hopes of driving empathy for the many people affected by prohibition. This story would be targeted at key legislators in hopes of influencing their decision to pass a bill that would lift small possession charges. |
