Brief | The most common thing in Halloween movies is women being chased and killed. But it’s not only fiction. Many women experience what actual horror is every day in Canada, with 184 women murdered in a context of domestic violence in 2022 only. La Maison grise – a shelter for victims of domestic violence – wanted to shed light on this growing problem for Halloween. We designed window decals depicting scenes of violence and placed them in home windows of neighbourhoods where femicides are most frequent. The campaign was launched on the NPO social channels through an OLV documenting the initiative. |
